What is you educational background?

I have bachelors in Telecommunication from Tashkent Electrotechnical institute of Telecommunications and Master’s in Telecommunication from Tashkent university of information technology. I also have master’s degree in information technology from Rochester Institute of Technology, Rochester, NY (USA) and a jontPHD in Computer Science from both Universitélibre de Bruxelles(Belgium) and Aalborg University (Denmark).

What are your research interests?

My research interests lay mainly in Big Data, Data Management, Semantic Web, Machine Learning, Data Mining and Artificial Intelligence.

Have you involved your students to your research?

Not really, because I have research assistants and we were working with them.

What are one or two of your proudest professional accomplishments?

I have a couple of papers in international conferences such as International semantic web conference and extended semantic web conference and I also have another paper in BIRTE which is a workshop held in conjunction with one of the largest database conferences - VLDB. Besides, I also worked as a software developer and was part of the team that developed software for Nook Color, and punch systems used in Sainsbury, Target, etc.

Do you have an international work experience?

We were working as a part of software development projects, which resides in the UK and US and this was mostly online experience.

Places you have visited and wish to visit?

I studied at United States,as well as Belgium and Denmark and while being in Europe I visited some other European countries as well. I also had business trip to China, Japan and Malaysia. I would like to visit Latin American countries such as Peru (to see Machu Picchu), Brasil and Argentina.

Favourite things about working at WIUT?

I would say that the flexibility is the most favorite one, because I can combine teaching and working on projects to grow further in career.

The most life changing or transformative experience in your life: I wouldn’t necessarily say I had life-changing experience, but I would highlight my education in US as one of the predominant experience in my life.
