Masters of Law in International Commercial Law (LLM)

Our LLM in International Commercial Law is an internationally recognised Masters degree awarded by the University of Westminster (London). It is targeted at working professionals who wish to blend learning and working. It covers those aspects of law that commercial law practitioners could expect to encounter on a regular basis. This course is unique in Uzbekistan and Central Asia in terms of providing opportunity to study commercial law in accordance with international standards.

Language of Instruction: ENGLISH

It is a 2 year, part time course (classes start at 18:00) allowing students to combine their work with their studies. As such, it is designed for young professionals consisting of an intensive introduction to all aspects of management in an international business environment.

Entry Requirements

Students are required, other than in exceptional circumstances, to have studied law or a relevant field prior to admission onto the programme, and to have achieved the equivalent of an upper second class honours degree in the subject. There is an English language requirement for students whose first degree was not taught and assessed in English. Such students are required to have a minimum IELTS score of 6.5 (including 6.0 in writing) or equivalent in another recognised English language qualification.

Within this framework, consideration is also given to applications for Accredited Prior Learning (APCL) or experiential learning (APEL). This is also considered for students who have partially completed a relevant Masters programme in another country or who may have a professional Postgraduate Diploma. The student’s prior learning claim is mapped against the learning outcomes of the course. The decision on a claim rests with the Admissions Tutor or Course Leader, subject to confirmation by the Dean or a nominee and ratification by the APL Board. Students need to have enrolled on the course before a claim for APL can be assessed.

All candidates must be at least 23 years of age on the day of enrolment. Candidates who have met the minimum requirements will then be invited for a formal interview by a panel of 2 persons and must satisfy the panel of their suitability to study on the course.
