On Monday, 4th of December Director of Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies (UK), Dr. Farhan Nizami visited Westminster International University in Tashkent.  During his lecture to WIUT students and staff members he talked about the history of Islamic civilization, the role of belief and belongingness in Islam and Islamic societies, instrumentalisation of the religion. Students enjoyed the lecture and asked many questions regarding the future of Islam, the activities of islamic Banks, the notion of Islam.

Dr. Nizami has served as the founder Director of the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies, a Recognized Independent Centre of the University of Oxford since 1985. He is also the editor of the Journal of Islamic Studies, Oxford University Press and series editor of Makers of Islamic Civilization, Oxford University Press.
