English Language Requirements for WIUT ADMISSION 2020-21

As a result of the global Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak English language requirements for the applicants wanting to start their studies at WIUT in academic year 2020/21 have been changed. These changes include an extension of the list of tests we accept as proof of English ability:

- IELTS Academic

6.0 overall with a minimum 5.5 in each component.

IELTS Indicator: This online test is available temporarily while IELTS testing is currently suspended due to COVID-19.  It will only be accepted as a temporary measure until IELTS test providers resume their normal operation in Uzbekistan. TOEFL (IBT)

78 overall with a minimum of 17 in Listening, and Writing, 18 in Reading and 20 in Speaking

Pearson PTE Academic

54 average with 51 in each component

Cambridge Assessment English:

C1 Advanced: Advanced and the Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) / C2 Proficiency: Proficiency and the Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE): 169 overall with a minimum of 162 in each component 

GCSE

Grade C or above in English Language or 4 in the GCSE 1–9 grading scale 

IGCSE

Grade C or above in English Language (first language) or 4 in the 1–9 grading scale

Grade B in English Language (second language) or 5 / 6 in the 1–9 grading scale (subject to course requirements)

We do not accept iGCSE English Literature as proof of English language ability. 

LanguageCert International ESOL SELT (B2)

Master's degrees– Minimum 33 in each component from the B2 level Exam 

The Duolingo English Test

An online English proficiency test taken via a computer with a camera. Please make sure that you list the Westminster International University in Tashkent so that your results are shared with us. Results are available within 48 hours of the test session.

Master's degrees – 100-110 overall
