On 30th November 2019, Westminster International University in Tashkent hosted the 4th National Scientific and Educational Forum as part of the annual “Infolib” event.
The purpose of the forum is to stimulate activity in the field of innovation and to increase the quality and volume of scientific research and publications in the Republic of Uzbekistan. The forum aims to achieve this by familiarising forum participants with world-renowned scientific and educational information sources, as well as introducing them to new technologies which will allow them to create their own electronic resources. The forum was attended by more than 100 participants, including representatives from Ministries and state agencies, universities, the Academy of Sciences, directors and leading specialists from information and library institutions (IBU), teachers, doctoral students and prospective researchers, directors and chief editors of publishing houses.
It is worth noting that ease-of-access to global scientific information sources is crucial not only for improving the quality of scientific research and education but also for developing technology, manufacturing and the country's economy.
The event was organized in cooperation with the National Library of Uzbekistan, Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Tashkent University of Information Technologies, Westminster International University in Tashkent and E-Line Press Electronic Scientific Resources Databases.
