WIUT Drama Club stages “Out of Order” by Ray Cooney
The play tells the story of junior government minister Richard Willey, who plans to spend an evening with Jane Worthington, one of the opposition's typists in London's "Same Old Suite 648." However, their plans take an unexpected turn when they discover a dead body stuck in the window.
The Drama Club, the oldest club at WIUT, celebrates its 17th season this year.
Performances took place on April 19th and 20th at the State Theater of Young Spectator under the guidance of WIUT alumni and faculty member Abdurashid Yakubov.
On April 9th Westminster International University in Tashkent (WIUT) held the first stage of the "Ilhom" award competition.
The first stage was conducted in a form of a test, which is aimed to identify and support students excelling in various spiritual, educational, scientific, and creative endeavours.

WIUT Faculty members participated in the Central Asia Economic & Financial Literacy Forum
WIUT is excited to share snapshots from the first Central Asia Economic & Financial Literacy Forum, hosted in Almaty, Kazakhstan, on March 26, 2024!
The Uzbekistan delegation was led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nargiza Alimukhamedova (WIUT Course Leader and EFI project Country Manager for Uzbekistan) and featured esteemed members including Dr. Timur Makhkamov (WIUT Senior Lecturer), Dr. Alisher Shaykhov (Ambassador and Chairman of Uzbekistan Managers Association), Mr. Usmon Rakhimjanov (UNDP Project Manager), and Dr. Valijon Turakulov (Central Asian University, Head of International Business Department). All delegates contributed significantly to the event by sharing their best practices in four relevant panels.
With over 50 participants hailing from EFI's dedicated team and representing Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and Azerbaijan, the forum facilitated enriching discussions and outcomes.

Dr. Komiljon Karimov appointed as Rector of WIUT
On April 5, 2024, the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovations of the Republic of Uzbekistan Kongratbay Sharipov visited Westminster International University in Tashkent to announce the appointment of Dr. Komiljon Karimov as the new Rector of Westminster International University in Tashkent (WIUT).
In this post, he replaced Bakhrom Mirkasimov, who held the office between 2020-2024 term.
Prior to this appointment, Dr. Komiljon Karimov served as First Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovations of the Republic of Uzbekistan. During 2015-2020, he served as Rector of WIUT.
