University students had an opportunity to meet like-minded students during a reading session dedicated to Harry Potter fantasy novels by J.K. Rowling. As a part of the session a Chess match, originally on the huge enchanted chessboard, from the Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s stone has been recreated and the participants had to play two moves to checkmate the king. The event agenda contained a Quiz, which warmed up the atmosphere, even more, when everyone was shouting out the answers. The winners were awarded prizes. During the session, participants were enabled to develop a greater understanding of the book by the provision of a forum for discussion.

The Reading Club provides a relaxed environment in which students are able to discuss their interpretation of the book with other participants of the session. A reading club is a great chance to share views with others, which is much more fun than looking away inside your head. Through books, a reader enters different worlds, sees other points of view, and experiences new emotions and situations.
