Developing Students’ Critical Thinking Skills in Academic English Module

Abstract

Assessment tasks in the Academic English module which require extensive use of critical thinking skills pose challenges for WIUT students at Foundation level. One important concern is that high proficiency in English does not necessarily guarantee successful completion of the tasks. The purpose of the presentation will be to share our vision of developing students` critical thinking skills in Academic English module, through integration of critical thinking – oriented tasks into the curriculum.
