Search Conference

On May 29-31, Global English Department of WIUT held a Search Conference*.

The purpose of the event is to create a strategic action plan to expand and strengthen WIUT’s educational research portfolio over the next five years. The following topics were discussed in the event:

  • the importance of interdisciplinary and collaborative research,
  • how to involve academics, students, and clients in research
  • how to address questions relevant to WIUT and Uzbekistan, while contributing to wider bodies of knowledge.

Representatives of the Republican Scientific-Practical Center of Developing the Innovational Methods for Teaching Foreign Languages also participated in the event and well contributed to discussions. Some joint events may be held in the future.

* A Search Conference is a participative process in which a group of people develops a set of strategic goals and tactical action plans that they will later implement. Any group of people—a corporation, government agency, community, or an industry (henceforth referred to

as a system)—might use a Search if they need to create a plan for the development of their system.
