On May 5th and 6th, WIUT hosted the 4th International Conference in Education and Linguistics (ICEL 2023), focusing on the "Drivers of learner/student success: insights into teaching, learning, and research".

ICEL 2023 attracted a high number of local and international teachers, curriculum and materials developers, testing and assessment organisations, publishers, government bodies and international organisations.

Keynote speakers include Dr Joyce Kling, TESOL International Association Past President; Prof. Anthony Liddicoat, Professor in the Department of Applied Linguistics at the University of Warwick (UK); Aidan Holland, Assessment Solutions Project Manager at British Council, and Christopher Vasiliou, ELT Consultant and Teacher Trainer, MM Publications, USA.

The Ambassador of the UK in Uzbekistan, Tim Torlot, was an honourary guest and speaker, sharing his personal experience in learning foreign languages and stressed that innovative technologies made this process considerably easy.

In his opening speech, Bakhrom Mirkasimov, Rector of WIUT, highlighted that these kinds of events provide insights into the latest trends and innovations in teaching and become an indispensable part of student success in quality learning.
