Westminster International University in Tashkent (WIUT) hosted the 3rd International Conference on Education and Linguistics (ICEL 2022) on campus. The event brought together local and international teachers, academics, curriculum and materials developers as well as testing and assessment organisations from more than 20 countries, including Australia, Germany, Norway, Spain, Turkey, UAE, USA and countries of Central Asia.
The participants generated proposals to address lack of research in teacher effectiveness and stated that language teaching system and research practice must be modernised and adapted to the rapid changes, given a specific focus on both online and offline modes of education.
