WIUT joins the International Association of Universities (IAU)! Founded in 1950, under the auspices of UNESCO, the International Association of Universities (IAU) is the leading global association of higher education institutions and organisations from around the world. WIUT is the second member in Uzbekistan to join. IAU brings together its universities, other higher education institutions (HEIs) and their associations, from more than 130 countries for reflection and action on common priorities. IAU works to enhance higher education community’s role and actions in advancing societies worldwide. As a global membership organization, IAU represents and serves the full spectrum of higher education institutions and their associations.

The newly established membership contributes to the further development of WIUT by granting access to a wide network of associations and organizations; establish new contacts and partnerships; participate in international events in the presence of top experts; contribute to working groups, seminars and meetings of IAU experts; and gain insight into other perspectives worldwide. Other IAU members include Boston College (USA), Heidelberg University (Germany), Moscow State University (Russia), and the University of London (UK).

The IAU hosts a weekly Webinar Series on the Future of Higher Education – short, medium and long-term perspectives. IAU offers Internationalization Strategies to help WIUT become an even stronger international university. WIUT staff are invited to attend a large variety of events all over the world, focusing on key higher education topics, bringing together experts from all regions. The Annual General Conferences focuses on Relevance and Value of Universities to Future SocietyFind out more about IAU at http://www.iau-aiu.net/.
