Ensuring Women’s Access to Higher Education at WIUT

Through our merit-based scholarships and tuition discounts, we aim to make education more accessible to talented female students, both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Undergraduate Scholarships

2022-2023 Academic Year
To support outstanding female students at the undergraduate level, WIUT offered several scholarships:

  • Full-Tuition Scholarships
    WIUT Scholarship: 5 female students received full tuition coverage.
    State Scholarship: 34 female students benefited from this scholarship, which fully covered their tuition.

  • Dean’s List Tuition Discounts
    A 15% tuition discount was awarded to 210 female students who achieved academic excellence, highlighting our commitment to rewarding performance.

2023-2024 Academic Year
The number of scholarships and discounts increased in 2023-2024, reflecting WIUT's continuous commitment to female education:

  • Full-Tuition Scholarships
    WIUT Scholarship: 10 female students received this scholarship.
    State Scholarship: 15 female students benefited from the full-tuition coverage.

  • Dean’s List Tuition Discounts
    The 15% discount was awarded to 375 high-achieving female students, supporting even more students in their academic pursuits.

Postgraduate Scholarships

2022-2023 Academic Year
At the postgraduate level, WIUT offers discounts and scholarships to female students:

  • Alumni Discount for Master’s Degree
    A 15% tuition discount was granted to 60 female alumni pursuing their master's degrees, encouraging further education within the WIUT community.

  • Rector’s List Scholarship
    An additional 35% tuition discount was provided to one female student.

2023-2024 Academic Year
Our support for postgraduate female students continued with expanded discounts:

  • Alumni Discount for Master’s Degree
    72 female students received a 15% tuition discount, marking an increase in postgraduate scholarship availability.

  • Rector’s List Scholarship:
    One female student received the 35% discount, reinforcing WIUT’s dedication to rewarding exemplary academic performance.

Promoting Female Leadership and Engagement

Clubs for Girls

The university hosts 4 dedicated clubs exclusively for girls, providing them with spaces for self-expression, professional development, and personal growth. These clubs create supportive environments where female students can connect, gain new skills, and engage in activities tailored to their interests.

Clubs Led by Female Leaders

Among the 50 active clubs at the university, 27 are led by women, showcasing a strong commitment to fostering female leadership. Some of the largest and most popular clubs with female leaders include the Dance Club, Drama Club, Eco Club, Vocal Club, Zakovat Uzbek League, Volleyball Club, Women Empowerment Club, and many more. These clubs inspire other female students to participate actively and embrace leadership roles.

Advisors in the Students' Union

Currently, 70 female advisors are actively engaged in the Students' Union, supporting students in their academic and social needs. Their contributions help cultivate a welcoming environment where each female student feels supported and encouraged to pursue their ambitions.

Events for Girls

The university organizes several monthly events specifically aimed at supporting female students. Approximately 30 events take place annually, including masterclasses, field trips, sports events, guest lectures, and talks. These activities offer students opportunities to broaden their horizons, share experiences, and be inspired by successful female role models.

Intellectual Games and Leadership in "Zakovat"

The leader of the "Zakovat" club is also female, providing a positive example of female leadership in intellectual games. Additionally, around 50% of participants in such events are women, reflecting a high level of female engagement in intellectual and analytical activities.

Women Mentoring Schemes

To support and empower female students, they are paired with mentors who provide valuable guidance, career advice, and help in building essential skills. These schemes aim to strengthen students’ academic and career paths while creating a supportive community for personal and professional growth.
