Uzbekistan Visa

General order of the VISA ISSUANCE in Uzbekistan

Foreign citizens can get visas at the diplomatic representations and consular missions of the Republic of Uzbekistan abroad based on the confirmation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of the Republic of Uzbekistan (generated telex codes from MFA) https://gov.uz/en/mfa

Note: Different procedure for issuance of entry visas may be applied towards citizens of those countries that have appropriate bilateral agreements with Uzbekistan. For more information, please visit

Where to apply for Uzbekistan Visa? You may submit a visa application at the Uzbekistan Embassy or Consulate. Please note that required documents and visa fees may differ based on your citizenship and the place of application.

Visa at the airport. It is possible to obtain a visa at the international arrivals lounge of Tashkent International Airport if there is no Uzbekistan Embassy or Consulate in the country, where you are originating your flight to Uzbekistan.

To get Uzbekistan Visa WIUT international students should:

  • Generate a PDF file of application form through the online platform available at https://visa.mfa.uz/site/index?language=en

  • Provide the scan version of ID (Passport) to WIUT responsible officials by e-mail.

  • Provide the scan version of bank transactions sheet (receipt of tuition fee payment).

  • Deliver the scan version of Student’s Contract (Unconditional offer), and Public offer.

  • Get the confirmation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan via https://visa.mfa.uz/site/index?language=en by clicking Check visa status.

  • Deliver required documents to the diplomatic representations and consular missions of the Republic of Uzbekistan abroad to obtain visa sticker into your passport.

STEPS:

Step 1

Apply to WIUT Degree via online application form - www.admission.wiut.uz

To issue Uzbekistan Visa WIUT international staff members, including their spouses and dependents (children) should:

  • Generate a PDF file of application form through the online platform available at https://visa.mfa.uz/site/index?language=en

  • Provide the scan version of ID (Passport);

  • Provide the Invitation letter (for visiting guest lecturers only), Job offer for upcoming just recruited international faculty members.

  • Enclose the flight information (booked tickets) to obtain visa at Tashkent Airport directly upon the arrival (this visa is available when there is no diplomatic representations and consular missions of the Republic of Uzbekistan in foreign visitors’ departing country);

  • Check the visa status at the platform of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan via https://visa.mfa.uz/site/index?language=en;

  • Deliver required documents to the diplomatic representations and consular missions of the Republic of Uzbekistan abroad to obtain visa sticker into your passport;

  • Please consider the IMPORTANT NOTE!

- Applies to foreign teachers that are involved in the educational process. In accordance with the Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan about Organization of Westminster International University in Tashkent signed by the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers I. KARIMOV No. 22, Tashkent, 16 January, 2002. (Point 11): Point 11: To the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, at the request of the Westminster International University in Tashkent, to ensure the issuance of entry visas to foreign teachers participating in the educational process, without charging consular fees.

- Visa-free entry to the Republic of Uzbekistan for foreign citizens under the age of 16, accompanied by their legal representatives and in possession of a biometric travel document, is established for the duration of the accompanying person's visa, but not more than 90 (ninety) days from the date of arrival in the country.

To issue Uzbekistan visa for short-term stay WIUT international fellows, visiting guest lecturers and researchers should:

Deadline notes for visa processing:

  • It is recommended to issue Visa and initiate its prolonging procedures at least one month in advance of the intended dates of arrival and/or Visa expiration date accordingly.

  • It is recommended to have a passport valid for at least 6 months upon the date of the visa application.

Visa and registration

- Ministry of foreign affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan (MFA) https://gov.uz/en/mfa considers the Visa application within a week and/or within 3 working days for urgent visa. Please note that an urgent visa will require additional charges.

- The Authorities of Interior affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, i.e. Main Directorate of Migration and Citizenship Registration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan https://www.gumiog.uz/ru considers the Visa prolonging applications up to 14 days.

- Local authorities of Interior affairs, i.e. Local Departments of Migration and Citizenship Registration of the Ministry of the Interior Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan considers the Registration issuance and Registration prolonging applications within 1-2 working days.

Arrival and Customs

Westminster International University in Tashkent runs Airport one-time pick-up service for incoming international students (full-time) and staff.

Please, be informed that all mobile devices brought into the country from overseas are required to be declared as a part of regulation of UZIMEI registration.

Upon registration of a mobile device purchased internationally through UZIMEI, a search is initiated in the customs database. If the device does not appear in the customs database, a fee amounting to 30% of the device's price will be applied. Additionally, depending on the mobile device model, additional UZIMEI registration fee is required.

Accommodation and Registration

Westminster International University in Tashkent offers support for accommodation in WIUT dormitory facilities and private apartments.

VERY IMPORTANT! Upon the arrival in Uzbekistan, you should get registered by the local Migration Authorities of Uzbekistan within 72 hours. Delays in registration will lead to extra PENALTY charges.
