MoU signed between the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Westminster International University in Tashkent
 
A significant meeting took place between the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Westminster International University in Tashkent. During the discussions, both parties explored further areas of cooperation and development of bilateral relations. The meeting concluded with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding.
 
Key areas highlighted in the memorandum include the creation of new joint IT projects, the organisation of seminars, conferences, and masterclasses by the Central Bank for WIUT students, and the establishment of a laboratory aimed at enhancing practical skills in software development for optimising business processes and other innovative solutions.

WIUT Teaching, Learning, and Research Symposium 2024!

The Centre for Professional and Lifelong Education (CPLE) and the Graduate School of WIUT recently hosted the annual Teaching, Learning, and Research Symposium. This year's theme was "Embedding Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Higher Education Curriculum and Research Clusters."

The symposium brought together educators, researchers, and higher education experts. They discussed innovative strategies, best practices, and the challenges of incorporating ESD and SDGs into higher education. 

The key thematic areas included:
• Curriculum Design
• Pedagogical Strategies
• Interdisciplinary Collaboration
• Student Involvement and Empowerment
• Institutional Transformation

The event featured a keynote presentation, sharing of best practices, research work, interactive Q&A sessions, and networking opportunities. The announcement of the Symposium winners marked the conclusion of the event.

The first place was awarded to Tamilla Tagieva for her outstanding presentation on SDG Integration into Legal Education.

Tamilla Tagieva earned the chance to showcase her work and present WIUT at the University of Westminster's Learning & Teaching Symposium in London in September 2024, which will be centred around "Incorporating Westminster's Strategic Priorities into teaching, learning, and assessment".

Westminster International University in Tashkent hosted an unforgettable inter-university friendship Zakovat tournament

Westminster International University in Tashkent hosted an unforgettable inter-university friendship Zakovat tournament.

Representatives from six universities battled it out across four stages, exploring common topics that resonated with everyone. In the current game, the outcome was as follows: 
- Interstellar (New Uzbekistan University) team secured the third place;
- Team Spirit (Tashkent State University of Economics) team took the second place;
- the first place went to the Satisfaction (Tashkent State University of Law) team.

Moreover, this tournament marked the culmination of the season, determining the overall winners of the 2023–2024 academic year. The three proud teams of the WIUT Zakovat Championship, namely Eastminster, Intellect, and Invictus, showcased exceptional performances throughout the season, claiming the top positions. Eastminster and Intellect tied for first place, with Invictus securing second place and Phoenix landing in third place.
 
The WIUT Zakovat Club extends its heartfelt gratitude to all participants, supporters, and sponsors for contributing to the success of this event and looks forward to future endeavours in fostering unity and excellence among students.

WIUT Hosts the National Round of Economics Olympiad 

WIUT was proud to host the National Round of the VIII International Economics Olympiad for youth aged 14-18 on May 22, 2024. 

This prestigious event, part of the Economic Fundamentals Initiative (EFI), aimed to promote economic literacy among young people. In February 2024, the EFI Uzbekistan team conducted the first round of the Olympiad across all 14 regions of Uzbekistan, engaging 583 students in an online test. The top 81 students advanced to this National Round at WIUT, competing to represent Uzbekistan in the International Round in Greece in September.

The implementation of the Economics Olympiad in Uzbekistan aligns with several key national priorities. It contributes to building a New Uzbekistan, promoting economic and financial literacy, enhancing the quality of education, and supporting talented youth.

ALWIUT hosted the Festival of Gymnastics and ‘Dad, Mom and Me’ Sports Competition on the occasion of the International Children's Day

ALWIUT hosted the Festival of Gymnastics and ‘Dad, Mom and Me’ Sports Competition on the occasion of the International Children's Day 

The Festival was attended by 6 groups of the Year 1, who presented a musical composition they had prepared to the jury. A variety of sports equipment, beautiful music and catchy dances with gymnastics elements made a great impression on the audience.

The Sports Competition ‘Dad, Mom and Me’ was attended by teams of parents and pupils from 7 groups of the Year 1. This traditional sports competition, held in co-operation with the Academic Lyceum Parents' Committee, pedagogical team and students, tested the teams on 8 terms and revealed the most mobile and united family.

These activities aim to enhance cultural and educational sports competitions within families, promote a healthy environment, honor traditional mind games, and ensure mutual harmony.

As part of the Global Uzbekistan Week held in London, the WIUT Wolves volleyball team recently competed against the University of Westminster Dragons team. It was an incredible match filled with energy, teamwork, and sportsmanship. The game was intense, with both teams diligently preparing and showcasing their strengths.

From Tashkent to London: The Drama Club of WIUT experienced an unforgettable journey to London, performing in one of the world’s theatre capitals  The play was performed in Portland Hall of the University of Westminster. 

We are thrilled to share our incredible adventure. From rehearsals in Tashkent to standing ovations in London, our journey was a testament to dedication, passion and efforts. 

Together, we created memories that will last a lifetime and forged friendships. Our experience in London was more than just a trip - it was a celebration of the transformation power of theatre and the beauty of cultural exchange in the frame of the Global Uzbekistan Festival held at UoW.

More than thirty students and members of the leadership team from WIUT have journeyed to the UK to host an array of research, academic, sporting, cultural, and social activities currently underway. Today, we are sharing with you the highlights from the launch of a new book New Uzbekistan: The Third Renaissance and the 7th Annual DEN International Student Conference.

Westminster International University in Tashkent proudly commemorated the upcoming Day of Remembrance and Honour!

This holiday in Uzbekistan is celebrated in honour of the memory of our compatriots, who, over the centuries, have heroically and selflessly defended our land, its liberty and independence, and the peaceful life of our People.

As part of the Day of Remembrance and Honour celebrations, a festive concert was organised with the participation of staff and students of the University as well as the Academic Lyceum.
