The thrilling QUEST 'Squid Game' sets the stage for an immersive experience. Intellectual prowess shone in the ZAKOVAT game, while book enthusiasts of Book Club engaged in literary discussions at Bon! Cafe. Moreover, the unique lunch session allowed staff members to share more than 11 years of experience, contributing to a vibrant atmosphere that celebrated the university's milestones and showcased the diverse talents within the WIUT community. The WIUT Dormitory brought artistic flair to the festivities by staging a captivating play in the vibrant and cultural style of Khorezm.

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Great Britain - the Right Honourable Minister Leo Docherty’s official visit to WIUT

On January 10th, 2024, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Great Britain, the Right Honourable Minister Leo Docherty, came to Uzbekistan on an official visit. During the visit, Minister Docherty and members of the British Parliament delegation, as well as British Ambassador to Uzbekistan, His Majesty's Ambassador, Timothy Smart, Country Director at British Council Uzbekistan Denise Waddingham visited Westminster International University in Tashkent (WIUT) - an accredited institution of the University of Westminster to meet with the Rector of WIUT Bakhrom Mirkasimov and First Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovations of the Republic of Uzbekistan Komiljon Karimov.

Directions for developing future partnerships and education links between the UK and the Republic of Uzbekistan, including ways to support the the Uzbekistan government's higher education priorities and the successful exemplar of the UK-Uzbekistan Transnational Educational (TNE) partnership and their further student and staff support measures were discussed. The visit ended with a nice campus tour 🤝

Go East: New Perspectives and New Connections

The Centre for EU-Asia Connectivity (CEAC), Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence at Ruhr-Universität Bochum (Germany) organised 'Go East: New Perspectives and New Connections,' an event focused on fortifying educational and research networks between Central Asia, South Caucasus and Germany. Rectors, faculty, students and experts engaged in discussions about international cooperation, joint research, teaching, and student mobility opportunities.

WIUT Deans Ikrom Rikhsiboev, Alisher Pulatov and Head of Law Department Akbar Ismanjanov, represented Uzbekistan and signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between WIUT and Ruhr-Universität Bochum to enhance collaborative research and education, including exchange programs. Moreover, WIUT colleagues conducted a visit to the University of Westminster, London (UK), for the Annual Monitoring Meeting.

WIUT Students’ New Year Ball 2024

Westminster International University in Tashkent marked the onset of 2024 with a spectacular New Year Ball – a Students’ Union event that exuded elegance and joy! From the enchanting melodies of a classical orchestra to the rhythmic beats of a talented DJ, the atmosphere was truly enchanting. The New Year Ball, which has already become a tradition among students, is an opportunity to remember and rejoice over the best moments of the outgoing year, as well as to celebrate the successful passing of exams.

Guests reveled in the grace of the Traditional Waltz and captured special moments at 3 fantastic photo zones. The evening was adorned with awards, engaging contests, and a multitude of delightful surprises. The most active and best students in various nominations were awarded gifts and certificates.

Advancing Healthcare Training for Public Health Professionals

This December, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Westminster International University in Tashkent (WIUT). In a pivotal move towards international knowledge exchange and good practice, the University of Westminster, the Centre for Professional and Lifelong Education (CPLE) and the Center for the Development of Professional Qualification of Medical Workers initiated a significant milestone to advance healthcare management training for medical workers in Uzbekistan.

Notably, the realization of this collaboration aligns with the Presidential Decrees #5590 and #4666, outlining comprehensive measures for significant improvements in the country's healthcare system.
