PURPOSE: The Digital Learning Coordinator will support the Centre for Academic Development (CAD) by developing, implementing, and maintaining digital learning tools and resources. This position ensures the integration of innovative technology into professional development initiatives and fosters an engaging digital learning environment for academic staff and students at WIUT.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Oversee the implementation and management of the Learning Management System (LMS) and its integration with CAD’s professional development programmes.
- Develop and maintain a dedicated CAD webpage and WIUT LMS section to promote the Centre’s activities, training schedules, and resources.
- Ensure seamless operation of digital hybrid and online learning tools, including video lessons and webinars using platforms like Zoom or Teams.
- Collaborate with academic staff and trainers to develop, curate, and upload high-quality digital learning materials such as recorded lectures, toolkits, and articles.
- Create self-paced learning modules and ensure resource accessibility for all academic staff.
- Implement best practices in instructional design to enhance the digital learning experience.
- Provide training and technical support to academic staff on effectively using digital learning tools and platforms.
- Develop guides, tutorials, and workshops to enhance digital literacy among faculty members.
- Act as a point of contact for troubleshooting and resolving issues related to online and hybrid learning technologies.
- Monitor and evaluate the use of digital platforms, collecting data on participation, engagement, and feedback to inform improvements.
- Generate regular reports on the effectiveness of digital learning tools and their impact on professional development outcomes.
- Stay updated on emerging trends and technologies in digital education to improve CAD’s digital offerings continuously.
- Explore opportunities to incorporate new tools and technologies to enhance teaching, learning, and professional development.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in education, instructional design, educational technology, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
- Proven experience managing digital learning platforms and tools, particularly LMS systems.
- Strong knowledge of instructional design principles and digital pedagogy.
- Proficiency with webinar platforms (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams) and multimedia content creation tools.
- Previous experience in a higher education or professional development setting is an asset.
- Sufficient experience in the area of Teaching and Learning and the development of technology-enhanced learning
- Experience with higher education institutions or similar organisations
- Experience designing and developing clear instructional materials in written graphic, audio, video, or multimedia form.

- Excellent interpersonal, organisational and public relations skills. Must possess a customer-service-driven and team-oriented approach.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience, work independently or with multiple constituencies, speak or make presentations before groups, and conduct effective training.
