PURPOSE:  The Senior Executive Officer on International Collaboration supports the Head of the International Department in driving WIUT’s internationalization strategy and fostering global partnerships. The role involves managing operational tasks related to international partnerships, coordinating visa and registration processes for international students and staff, and assisting with administrating exchange programs and other global initiatives.

CONTEXT:  The Senior Executive Officer works under the supervision of the Head of the International Department, collaborating closely with departments such as Admissions, Human Capital Management, Marketing, and Student Services. The role is integral in ensuring that international partnerships, exchange programs, and logistical support for the international community are executed effectively.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of the university’s international strategy in collaboration with the Head of the International Department;
  • Act as the first point of contact for partnership requests, conducting initial due diligence and coordinating with the Head of International Department
  • Develop and enhance policies, processes, and procedures related to internationalization and global engagement;
  • Serve as the first point of contact for partnership requests, conducting initial assessments and coordinating follow-ups as directed by the Head of International Department;
  • Manage administrative processes for partnership agreements, maintaining a comprehensive database of partnerships and tracking progress;
  • Oversee and facilitate visa and registration processes for international visitors, students, and staff, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements;
  • Provide logistical support for incoming international students, staff, and visitors, coordinating with relevant departments to facilitate a smooth transition and integration;
  • Coordinate with university departments to ensure that the needs of the international community are addressed, enhancing their campus experience;
  • Support the administration of student and staff exchange programs, including Erasmus+ and other mobility initiatives, ensuring these align with WIUT’s academic objectives;

  • Collaborate with academic and administrative departments to support the operational needs of international study, research, and training opportunities;
  • Collect and report data on international partnerships, exchange programs, and global initiatives to assist the Head of the International Department in decision-making and strategic planning;
  • Support the administration of student and staff exchange programs, including Erasmus+ and other mobility initiatives, ensuring these align with WIUT’s academic objectives;
  • Contribute to the development of communications that enhance WIUT’s visibility in global academic and professional networks;
  • Participate in international events and meetings, representing WIUT and supporting the Head in establishing new connections and partnerships.
  • Update and maintain relevant sections of the WIUT website pertaining to international affairs, partnerships, and exchange opportunities;
  • Coordinate with international and local bodies to support WIUT’s initiatives in attracting foreign talent and securing international grants;
  • Conduct regular reviews and updates on data related to funded international opportunities;
  • Organize and support events that promote international engagement, such as informational sessions, orientation programs, and cultural exchange activities.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s (or upper) degree is required;
  • Proficiency in English;
  • Knowledge of Russian and Uzbek languages.

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 3-5 years in administrative functions related to international education or project management, ideally within higher education;
  • Experience managing visa processes and providing support for international students, staff, and visitors;
  • Familiarity with international partnerships and experience working in a multicultural setting;
  • Experience with the development, planning and implementation of programs within the international focus is required;
  • Previous experience in living and/or studying abroad is highly encouraged.
