JOB TITLE: Head of Admission and Student Recruitment Section
REPORTS TO: Academic Registrar
PURPOSE: To provide support to the Academic Registrar in the management of the Recruitment and Admission Functions and to be responsible for associated services provided by the Academic Registrar’s office, namely a client focused interface for ALL potential student administrative requirements such as Admission and processing. To cooperate with marketing department in providing recruitment activities, student interviews, admission publications, and information sessions. To be the day to day line manager of the staff of the area. In collaboration with the Faculty to arrange orientation programs, educational workshops and graduation programs for students.
CONTEXT: This post is Head of a busy and customer-oriented area, of an admission office of the university in relation to the needs of potential students and applicants. It also is the engine that provides the intelligent and rigorous information to the applicants not only on admission process but also information on student experience and graduation. The post will be responsible for the functions of the area, the implementation of policies, the collection of applicants’ data and the reporting of such data for analysis of student flows, choices and module registrations and related management of information which will create a fundamental reference for further university planning and strategy.
Principal Responsibilities
- To oversee all aspects of the admissions and recruitment process for all courses, including, communications, visits, tours and committees, scheduling, promotion, planning;
- To be responsible for Global and Local Admissions and Recruitment;
- To ensure customer friendly R&A process for all prospective students;
- To lead the Team ensuring they have the knowledge, training and support to deliver a customer-cantered service that is compliant with all necessary regulations;
- To manage the Admissions and Recruitment section of wiut.uz;
- To be responsible for the quality, appropriateness and range of Administrative support in relation to admissions for Post Graduate/Undergraduate and Foundation Courses. For such services to be provided in a secure, customer friendly and timely manner;
- To provide the University’s broad strategic leadership of enrolment planning, and will serve as key point of integration for recruitment and admissions;
- To develop and implement annual Recruitment plan and Admissions strategy, develop and review all admissions and recruitment related policies and procedures for increasing inquiries and applications and for increasing yields;
- To oversee the development of the process, procedures and systems for the administrative support for potential students and their record;
- To be responsible for the process and system of admission and enrolment and security of this information in accordance with the university policies;
- To review and report on the performance of the area and to recommend development and enhancement of its systems and functions;
- To participate in developing a framework for all recruitment events, open houses, school fairs, information sessions, exhibitions, school visits and off-campus events;
- To analyse the applications of prospective students based on standard admission policies;
- To oversee the development of the information systems needed to support the delivery of the services of the admission and systems on the WIUT Admissions;
- To provide intelligence on the data relating to the process as required by the Academic Council and Executive and to ensure that such support is delivered in an appropriate manner;
- To be responsible for implementation of relevant sections of the admin annex;
- To assist in the continual assessment of the strengths and best-selling points of each divisional programme;
- To be responsible for the preparation of relevant Rector’s orders;
- To evaluate continually and redesign where appropriate, all the aspects of the admissions and recruitment programme with the goal of maintaining capacity enrolment of qualified students by analysing data and developing action plans;
- To collaborate with department heads and represents the School at important events including off-site recruitment fairs, parent coffees, exhibitions and school visits;
- To undertake any other duties as required by the Academic Registrar or 1st Deputy Rector
- To provide an exceptional working environment through which the Admissions and Recruitment will successfully perform in cross-functional responsibilities, which will support each area in ‘rush’ period;
- To ensure that members of the Section act in a professional manner towards all members of the community and build quality relationships with all stakeholders.
Person Specification
The appointee should be able to demonstrate the following:
Qualification
- 1st degree in an appropriate area and preferably;
- A postgraduate degree;
- English to high standard.
Experience
- At least 4 year - experience of administrative support in admission of an educational institution;
- Management of colleagues;
- Policy analysis and development;
- Committee servicing and secretarial support.
