CONTEXT:

The university offers a range of University of Westminster validated courses students are registered on the University of Westminster Student Record System and their academic performance and progression is subject to University of Westminster academic regulations and processes.  WIUT is responsible for the day to day management of the assessment records of students enrolled by WIUT.  The post is part of the administrative structures and systems that assures the Quality and integrity of students performance profiles.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • To contribute to the development and management of the Academic Administration policy, systems and procedures of the university.
  • To assist the Head of Student Performance in management and development of the administrative systems
  • To assist in the administration of Subject Assessment Boards and Conferment Boards, the information, preparation of and as secretary to the boards.
  • To liaise as required with the University of Westminster in the processing and procedures of assessment records for students on the University of Westminster Student Record system.
  • To assist in the assessment timetable of the university, in particular the coordination of deadlines for assessment.
  • To assist in preparation of examination arrangements including room allocation, and invigilation timetabling
  • To assist in the monitoring of the assessment outcomes, reporting procedures and analysis for Quality Assurance and Enhancement and for management purposes
  • To liaise with the Dean of the Faculty and colleagues in the administration of the assessment systems.
  • To undertake personal and professional development appropriate to the post.
  • To undertake other duties at a similar level of responsibility and challenge as and when required in consultation with the Head of Student Performance or Academic Registrar

Person Specification

Qualifications.

  • Candidates are expected to hold a first degree or equivalent.
  • Candidates should be have a good understanding of English to be able to communicate with colleagues in the University of Westminster and understand written regulations in English

Experience.

  • Evidence of work experience in administrative positions
  • Evidence of team working and contribution as a team member
  • Evidence of dealing with detail and pressure

Aptitudes, abilities, skills and personal qualities

  • Appropriate level of computer literacy
  • Evidence of an aptitude for detail and patience
  • Evidence of a high level of personal and professional integrity
  • The applicants will need to demonstrate their commitment, flexibility, passion and enthusiasm for the subject area.
