Specialised Training on Research Methods and Data Analysis Successfully Concluded

On April 18th, the Center for Professional and Lifelong Education (CPLE), in collaboration with leading experts from WIUT — Prof. Dr. Nargiza Alimukhamedova, Dr. Bekzod Zakirov, and Kamoliddin Islam — successfully concluded a specialised training programme on Research Methods and Data Analysis for the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Research Institute of Legal Policy under the Ministry.

The Deputy Minister of Justice, Mr. Alisher Karimov, and WIUT Rector, Komiljon Karimov, attended the closing ceremony to award certificates to participants and explore future collaboration opportunities.

The course was designed for professionals new to research or seeking to strengthen their analytical capabilities. Participants gained essential knowledge and practical skills in core research methodologies relevant to the social sciences, particularly in the legal field.

WIUT is Proud to Announce the Validation of Two New Postgraduate Courses by the University of Westminster!

This September, Westminster International University in Tashkent is launching the MBA in Finance and the Master of Arts in Creative Industries Management — programmes designed to meet the growing demand for future-ready professionals in Uzbekistan and Central Asia.

The MBA in Finance equips graduates and professionals to lead in today’s complex financial landscape. Whether pursuing a career as a financial analyst, risk and compliance manager, investment or project finance advisor, or corporate finance lead, the programme is designed to prepare ambitious individuals for success in both local and international contexts.

The MA in Creative Industries Management is the first programme of its kind in Uzbekistan, developed in line with the governmental initiatives to foster the creative economy as a key pillar of Uzbekistan’s future growth. Graduates of the programme will be prepared for careers in project coordination, cultural event development, creative business consulting, arts management, entrepreneurship, branding, and leadership roles across the creative and cultural sectors in Central Asia and beyond.

WIUT Signs MoU with the CERGE-EI Foundation

On April 10, 2025, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between WIUT and the CERGE-EI Foundation. This agreement marks the beginning of a long-term collaboration in the areas of research, student and faculty exchanges, and joint academic events.

The CERGE-EI Foundation supports market-based economic development, capacity building, and human capital development in post-socialist Eurasia through its innovative academic programs and support for the Prague-based CERGE-EI Institute.

The CERGE-EI Foundation delegation included Tony Claudino, President and CEO, and Dr. Katarina Stehlikova, Programme Director. During their visit, WIUT Rector Komiljon Karimov and the Senior Management engaged in discussions with the delegation, exploring collaborative opportunities in joint academic initiatives and broader institutional cooperation.

WIUT Showcased Uzbekistan’s Higher Education at the Begin Edu Fair in Baku

On 13 April 2025, Westminster International University in Tashkent proudly participated in the Begin Edu International Education Fair held in Baku, Azerbaijan, organised by the Begin Group.

Throughout the event, WIUT — one of Uzbekistan’s leading international universities — presented its academic programmes, which reflect the university’s commitment to global partnerships and high academic standards.

WIUT representatives promoted Uzbekistan’s growing higher education landscape to prospective Azerbaijani students and held productive discussions with international education leaders on strategic cooperation, student exchange opportunities, and cross-institutional collaboration. In addition, WIUT delivered a series of presentations at several of Baku’s top schools.

WIUT’s Jessup Team has made history at the prestigious Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition 2025 in Washington, D.C. This year, our team reached the Top 16 — a historical result in the history of WIUT. They advanced through the Preliminary Rounds, Top 48, and Top 32 before reaching the Round of 16, competing alongside esteemed institutions such as Harvard, Oxford, and Moscow State University.

The team was represented by our Commercial Law students: Mariya Sattieva, Karimaxon Khabibullaxo’ja, Rukhshona O’ralova, Sevarakhon Abdusaidova, and Jahongir Bahodirov. Notably, Karimaxon Khabibullaxo’ja was ranked among the Top 30 Oralists worldwide.

This achievement is a true testament to our students' talent, hard work, and dedication.  A special thanks to the coach and the mentor of the team, Meyirbek Abdikadirov, external coach Dilshodbek Orifjonov, and the Commercial Law Department for their support.

Promoting Crime Prevention Among Youth

WIUT, in collaboration with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, recently hosted an insightful lecture dedicated to the prevention of crime among young people.

The session was led by Lieutenant Colonel Armon Aidarov, an esteemed representative of the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, who shared his insights on the factors contributing to youth involvement in crime and practical strategies for prevention.

The lecture provided students with a deeper understanding of how education, awareness, and responsible decision-making can reduce the risk of criminal behaviour. Lieutenant Colonel Aidarov emphasised the importance of early intervention, community engagement, and the role of academic institutions in shaping a law-abiding, socially responsible generation.

This initiative reinforced WIUT’s commitment to nurturing informed, ethical young citizens and fostering a safe and secure society.

WIUT & Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent Conclude Product Ideation Course!

Westminster International University in Tashkent and Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent have successfully completed the Product Ideation, Design, and Management Course, launched as part of the strategic partnership.

Out of 60+ applicants, 16 students completed the programme, forming four innovative startup teams. After weeks of mentorship, research, and business modelling, these teams showcased their ideas at Startup Pitch Day, demonstrating creativity and entrepreneurial potential.

The agreement focuses on the exchange of expertise, the promotion of Uzbekistan’s tourism potential, and the development of innovative ideas by young professionals. A key aspect of the collaboration is the provision of skilled talent—WIUT students and graduates will have the opportunity to engage in internship programmes within the Committee and its regional divisions, gaining practical experience and supporting the industry’s development.
