Why is Attending Classes Important?

Student Attendance and Engagement
The Student Attendance System (PERCO) is a digital platform that records your attendance on campus. Your class attendance is also tracked in the Intranet attendance system.

Why Attending Classes is Important
Participating in your learning sessions is vital for developing the skills and knowledge necessary to successfully complete your course. Consistent attendance significantly contributes to your overall academic success. We recognise that absences may indicate underlying challenges, such as scheduling conflicts, overwhelming workloads, or personal circumstances. We are here to assist you in navigating any difficulties you may encounter.

Our university offers a vibrant and dynamic educational environment. In accordance with government regulations, you are expected to be present at the university or other approved locations throughout your study periods. When classes are scheduled on campus, in-person attendance is mandatory. Please ensure you regularly check your timetable on the INTRANET.

Why We Monitor Attendance
Your Personal Tutor is dedicated to supporting you throughout your academic journey. Your attendance and participation serve as indicators of your progress. Personal Tutors have access to your profile and the attendance system, which provide insights into your engagement in classes. Should you frequently miss classes, your Personal Tutor will initiate contact to discuss your academic progress and any challenges you may be facing. It needs to be said that accumulated non-attendance will lead to your study be suspended from University. Engaging with your tutor is essential for realising your full academic and personal potential. In instances of prolonged absences, your Personal Tutor will collaborate with the Course Leader to evaluate your situation.

Detailed information on your attendance can be found in the WIUT Student Attendance Policy.

This year marks Uzbekistan's debut in this prestigious Olympiad, and we are proud to say it has been a successful one! The Olympiad is structured in three rounds: the School Round, held in February 2024 across Uzbekistan with 583 participants from 14 regions; the National Round, hosted by WIUT on May 22, 2024, with 81 participants. The final round of EO2024 took place in the historic Ancient Olympia, Greece, September 1-4, 2024.

As a leading academic partner of the Economic Fundamentals Initiative (EFI) project activities in Uzbekistan, WIUT played a crucial role in this journey by managing the School Round, hosting the National round, and conducting advanced training for the International Final Round of the Olympiad. The EFI project has funded all three rounds, making this achievement possible.

Prof. Dr. Ikrom Rikhsiboev, WIUT Dean for Graduate School, showcased incredible talent on the global stage.
