COURSE OVERVIEW
The MBA and its pathways programme at Westminster International University in Tashkent is designed for working professionals and recent graduates who want to upgrade their qualifications and develop expertise in business management. The course strengthens students’ capacity to analyse real-world business and management problems with a critical mindset and supports strategic decision-making. During the programme students develop teamwork, problem-solving, and communication skills and learn how to apply them to complex business challenges.
The MBA offers four pathways:
MBA with General Management
Develop leadership skills to manage teams, lead organisational change, and make strategic business decisions. Graduates gain knowledge in management, finance, marketing, HR and analytics, preparing them for roles such as manager, operations manager, project manager, strategy consultant, or entrepreneur.MBA with Data Enabled Analytics
Develop skills in analysing organisational and market data to support strategic decision-making. Graduates may work as business analysts, data analysts, operations analysts, product managers, or strategy consultants in data-driven industries.

MBA with Marketing
Gain expertise in strategic marketing, consumer insights, and digital marketing tools. Graduates pursue careers as marketing managers, brand managers, digital marketing specialists, market research analysts, or customer experience managers.MBA with Human Resource Management (HRM)
Learn how to align people strategies with business goals and improve organisational performance. Career paths include HR manager, talent acquisition specialist, training and development manager, employee relations advisor, or organisational development consultant.
The programme equips students with both technical and transferable skills required to lead organisations across industries in local and international contexts.
LEARNING AND ASSESSMENT
The MBA and its pathways programme adopts a student-centred teaching and learning strategy that combines a variety of teaching approaches to ensure that course material is presented effectively and aligned with the learning outcomes of each module. The teaching methods emphasise the practical nature of business and management studies while helping students develop analytical, professional, and transferable skills.
The programme includes a range of learning methods such as formal lectures that provide a strong theoretical foundation in management concepts and analytical techniques. Seminars are used to explore case studies and apply theoretical knowledge to real business contexts. Workshops and practical sessions allow students to work on real problems and develop practical solutions. Additional learning activities may include student presentations, group discussions, and collaborative projects.

Many modules require students to analyse real business scenarios, develop strategic recommendations, and present their findings in professional formats.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Applicants should normally hold an Undergraduate degree (or equivalent) from a recognised higher education institution with a minimum of a second lower class honours (2:2 or equivalent). Applicants without a formal higher education qualification or a formal qualification that is not at an equivalent academic standard, may be considered if the following conditions apply:
They are or have been in employment where their role is in the area of the course and involves a high level of analysis and critical thinking.

Applicants must have:
- Had their first or second degree (or equivalent) taught and assessed in English; or
- IELTS with an overall score of at least 6.5 with a minimum of 6.0 in writing or another English Language Test recognised by the University of Westminster; or
- The required pass level on the Preparatory Language Course for PG studies: Preparatory Language Course for Master's degree
We accept the TOEFL (IBT (In person test) for entry to our programmes. We also accept TOEFL ‘My Best Scores’ where it relates to TOEFL iBT test results.
- TOEFL score should be 88 overall with a minimum of 21 in Writing
Please note that the TOEFL Home Edition (Online test) is not accepted for entry to WIUT degree programmes.

The WIUT Career Centre offers students and graduates support in the form of career guidance, mentoring, provision of internship and employment opportunities. These are regularly notified through the Career Services’ social media channels, website, intranet page and student e-mails. Students are encouraged to register with the careers development service which enables the careers advisers to notify them of relevant opportunities when they arise.
At the Institutional level, students will have an opportunity to participate in the Annual Job Fair. The Career Center at WIUT plays an important role in connecting students with the labour market by hosting annual job fairs. Such events offer students opportunities for internships and employment and serve as platforms for industry engagement and professional networking. At the Course level, the University organizes Guest Workshops, special events where industry experts are invited to participate in module workshops.

COURSE LEADER
Dr. Athar Hameed holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from the University of Lincoln (UK) and a PhD from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. He is also certified in ability and personality assessments by the British Psychological Society and Cambridge University.
He has worked with organisations across industries, including telecommunications, hospitality, aviation, FMCG, pharmaceuticals, technology, and development.
