LEARNING AND ASSESSMENT
The teaching and learning strategy adopted in the course uses a variety of teaching methods to ensure that material is presented effectively to students, emphasising the practical nature of the subject, aligning with the learning outcomes for each module, and developing the range of skills and knowledge required. The course itself consists of a range of methods, such as formal lectures used as a method for providing a firm grounding in the theory, seminars where case studies are frequently used to provide context for theory, workshops/practical classes, where theoretical or practical in nature problems are explored, and other methods used to involve student presentations or student-led seminars.
In addition, you will be provided with a range of resources, including textbooks, academic journals, and other materials available in the University’s learning resource centre, as well as software systems in the computer labs. Teaching staff are often engaged in research or commercial activities, which ensures that students gain an understanding of contemporary issues in the field.
The MBA in Finance course assessment demonstrates the university's commitment to authentic assessments, in which students apply the skills they have learned in real-world contexts that simulate modern work environments. Many modules use authentic assessment methods, such as projects, case studies, and practical assignments, that replicate real-world tasks, giving students the opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge in practice. Applicants should normally hold an Undergraduate degree (or equivalent) from a recognised higher education institution with a minimum of a second lower class honours (2:2 or equivalent). Applicants without a formal higher education qualification or a formal qualification that is not at an equivalent academic standard, may be considered if the following conditions apply:
They are or have been in employment where their role is in the area of the course and involves a high level of analysis and critical thinking.

Applicants must have:
- Had their first or second degree (or equivalent) taught and assessed in English; or
- IELTS with an overall score of at least 6.5 with a minimum of 6.0 in writing or another English Language Test recognised by the University of Westminster; or
- The required pass level on the Preparatory Language Course for PG studies: Preparatory Language Course for Master's degree
We accept the TOEFL (IBT (In person test) for entry to our programmes. We also accept TOEFL ‘My Best Scores’ where it relates to TOEFL iBT test results.
- TOEFL score should be 88 overall with a minimum of 21 in Writing
Please note that the TOEFL Home Edition (Online test) is not accepted for entry to WIUT degree programmes.

COURSE LEADER
Hasan A K M Kamrul is the Course Leader for the MBA in Finance at Westminster International University in Tashkent and a Senior Lecturer in Finance. He holds an MBA and a PhD from Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University in Japan.
With 10 years of commercial banking experience, Dr. Hasan has been working in a university setting since 2015. His research domain includes Banking Regulation and Financial Stability, Entrepreneurial Finance, Governance of Financial Institutions, Fintech, and Digital Currency. His latest research focuses on green finance in the Global South and the regulations of climate-related financial risk disclosures.
