On 30 January, 2026, the Lyceum Library turned into a true battlefield of words as students competed in the exciting Vocabulary Star Contest.
The event brought together motivated pre-university students ready to test their quick thinking and speaking skills.
Stages:
1️⃣ Kahoot Round: a fast-paced quiz that tested students’ vocabulary knowledge and reaction speed.
2️⃣ Wordwall Challenge: an interactive round that pushed participants to match and identify correct word meanings.
3️⃣ Synonyms (Written Task): students wrote synonyms for given words and flexibility of vocabulary.
4️⃣ Definition Round (Speaking): participants picked random words from papers and explained their meanings in front of everyone.
5️⃣ Final Speaking Round: contestants randomly selected a topic and spoke about it, demonstrating confidence and fluency.
The energy throughout the contest was amazing! Students not only competed, but also learned new words and improved their speaking skills. ✨
We are proud of every participant who stepped out of their comfort zone and challenged themselves. Events like this prove that learning English can be both educational and exciting.
