Summary of Position and Key Responsibilities

Westminster International University in Tashkent is seeking Management / Marketing Faculty Members to work in Tashkent. In your role as a Faculty Member, you will be dedicated to undertaking teaching, subject development, research and related administration on a range of courses, including both undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Management / Marketing. Programme Description

This course is designed to meet the challenges of a dynamic, technology-driven business world. The course will prepare students for management, marketing and entrepreneurship roles in different types of organizations and provide a solid foundation for understanding how businesses operate. It also aims to develop transferrable skills such as leadership skills, business perceptiveness and the ability to work collaboratively that will help graduates to pursue careers in every section of the economy – from retailing to manufacturing, government to “green” business and as well as establishing their own businesses.

Required Qualifications and Experience 

Minimum Qualifications

  • PhD (preferred) or close to completion of a PhD in Management/Marketing for Lecturer and Senior Lecturer appointments and Master's degree for Associate Lecturer appointments.
  • Fluency in English either with 7 IELTS or a subject qualification taught and assessed in English.

 

Teaching Experience

  • A demonstrated commitment to teaching and students; preferably at least 3 years of experience have introductory and intermediate courses in business management and marketing and other advanced management / marketing disciplines/subjects;
  • Demonstrated understanding of teaching i.e. developing new modules grounded in a discipline area and interdisciplinary in nature;
  • Experience using innovative and new teaching methods, including the assessment setting, marking and evaluation process;
  • Experience in some form of management and administration involving students, faculty and staff, i.e. managing faculty, student dissertations / projects; and
  • Experience teaching in Central Asia or similar international experience would be a valuable asset.

 Research Experience

  • A proven ability to publish research in internationally peer reviewed Management / Marketing journals related to your areas of personal research expertise and/or books or professional publications;

  • Experience as a peer reviewer for well-established scholarly journals in your area of study; and

PURPOSE:

Summary of Position and Key Responsibilities

The SRF/RF will help CPRO influence public policy as a leading think t  in the greater Central Asia region. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: INDIVIDUAL

  • As a CPRO team member, increase its ‘think-tank’ footprint connecting research with practice to inform policy and policy implementation, through interdisciplinary research. Include WIUT lecturers extensively in this process.
  • Design, plan and perform research on agriculture, water, and rural development. This broad multi-sector area includes the unique challenges of areas in transition, from migration to quality of services, to agricultural innovation, productivity, and services. Research should have local, regional, and international relevance; using quantitative and qualitative approaches as appropriate, collecting primary or using secondary data.
  • Strengthen and develop new research streams and enabling CPRO to impact research, policy and outreach based on internationally rigorous standards.
  • Leverage existing links with the CAREC Institute, the UN-Sustainable Development Solutions Network, CPRO’s International Advisory Group, and the Central Asian Futures and Foresight Association.
  • Develop complementary products, (a) short rapidly responding policy research and outreach with (b) rigorous, internationally recognized and peer-reviewed publications
  • Publish research findings in reputable journals and present at conferences and workshops. Provide policy recommendations based on research findings to support evidence-based decision-making.
  • Contribute to the development of research proposals and secure funding for new projects.
  • Strengthen and form relationships with different national and international stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and research institutions. Generate external sponsorship for research and outreach activities.

To be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of sustainability across the University and its community – students, staff, and partners. Coordinate and manage the University`s activities and commitment towards the University`s rankings at global, regional, and national levels. PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Developing and implementing sustainability policies, which may be related to water and energy use, waste reduction, sustainable procurement, and greenhouse gas emissions.

  • Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations on ranking performance and analyze ranking status such as providing periodical gap reports.
  • Develop and maintain a centralized database of ranking-related information, including historical data, methodologies, and submission deadlines, and provide data as requested. Identify areas for improvement and suggest changes to processes and workflows that impact ranking.
  • Stay updated on the latest ranking methodologies and trends, and identify the needed resources to achieve defined targets and outcomes.
